This map was inspired by earlier maps of the US, with its states renamed for countries with a similar GDP. I found this map very interesting as it looks like there are individual countries inside one large country. I can imagine that it could sometimes feel like that as everytime you cross a border into another state there is different rules, laws and regulations. The map shows each US state covered by the flag of a country with a population of comparable size. I found this amazing that partically every state has the same popluation as another individual country from somewhere else in the world. The United States is such a vast country and yet so much open space.
